Cutting things up

I'll begin with a photo from a couple of weeks back when with my Quilters' Dozen friends I hosted a Biggest Morning Tea to raise money for the Cancer Council. My photo taking was hardly successful, this being the only good one (I was too busy being hostess)

but the day was. The weather was ideal for our display around the garden, the food was plentiful and the company relaxed, interested and appreciative of the display. We raised  $573, and my thanks go to my Quilters' Dozen friends and all those who supported the event.

Since then I have been busily cutting quilt top kits for the Threads group. There must be something I can do with all these bits???

and cutting to make bunting for my daughter. They are now stitched and ready to attach to a tape or cord when I go to visit her.

 
 In the process I have managed to cut a piece off a finger with my rotary cutter - OUCH. It hasn't stopped me, but it is quite inconvenient, and I don't know how long it will take to heal. That might be quicker if I didn't manage to bump it every now and then - I hold it out of the way, but because it is my middle finger and longest, it manages to bump into something else!

I have also finished a small piece of cross stitch I bought in Sweden. It is a traditional armband piece, but I'm not sure what I will do with it.

To finish, a couple of bright spots in an otherwise dull garden - some pretty pansies

 and an unusually deep red nasturtium

 

The weather is cold, windy and wet, and here is the first snowdrop

It is time to start a new project, but which one? A ufo or something new?
